The skin is the largest organ in our bodies and has a huge impact on how we feel. When we're feeling good, our skin is glowing and we're more likely to be confident about ourselves. But while we often focus on the skin as an indicator of health and well-being, it can easily become disconnected from its purpose in life. If you don't take care of your skin, it will take care of you by showing signs of aging and stress. When we feel stressed out or anxious, our skin starts to sag and lose its elasticity. This can lead us down a spiral of self-doubt and low self-esteem, which can be tough to climb out of (we hear good things about meditation). The good news is that there are things you can do to make sure your skin stays healthy so it can always glow with positivity!
One way you can connect with your own skin is by taking care of it with regular exfoliation—basically just rubbing off dead cells from yourself every day. It's an easy way to feel connected to yourself in a very literal way: you literally are removing dead cells! Another great thing you can do is get into the habit of massaging your skin after every wash (even if it's just quickly using our Body Butter Bars). If your diet isn't particularly healthy, this may not seem like a big deal but trust us—it will make all the difference in how well your skin looks and how you feel about yourself.
Our skin is a record of our lives like the bark of a tree. We should focus on the way that our skin and body feels, rather than obsessing over the number on a scale or the size of a clothing tag. In this busy tech fueled world, one thing is constant in our time here, our corporal beings and it cannot and should not be ignored.
